Mark picked up a wood burning pen as a hobby and kept going until the walls of the house ran out of room. What started as gifts for family and friends grew into a small Amarillo workshop turning out one of a kind pieces.
Mark burns every line by hand and Stephanie handles the orders, the packing, and the customers. No lasers, no shortcuts, just patience and a steady hand.
Every piece is drawn and burned by hand, so the one you get is the only one like it.
Wood Burning Designs by Mark is a small Amarillo workshop built on pyrography, the art of burning an image into wood with a heated pen. There is no laser in the shop, so every line, shadow, and feather is drawn by hand.
Pieces are burned onto live edge rounds, slabs, and flat boards, then sealed with polyurethane and fitted with a hanger. Because the grain and the hand both vary, no two pieces come out the same.

Each design is traced onto the wood, then burned line by line with a heated pyrography pen in our Amarillo workshop. No laser is used at any point, which is why every piece carries small hand made variations.
Live edge rounds, live edge slabs, and flat boards, chosen for grain that suits the design. Availability changes, so the exact wood on a finished piece may differ slightly from the photo.
Every piece is sealed with polyurethane to protect the burn, and a hanger is installed on the back so it is ready to go straight onto the wall.
